Mitchell Herman is Chief Financial Officer and Co-Owner of RIS. With a professional background in both business and the food industry, Mitchell is President of Dana Creative Concepts Corp., a finance and management consulting company, with a diversified client base. His office is located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Prior to founding Dana Creative Concepts Corp., Mitchell Herman was Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs of Shoppers Food Warehouse. During his tenure with the company, Mitchell Herman’s work was instrumental in the development and expansion of the Shoppers Food Warehouse enterprise. His executive duties involved management and marketing for the company and he represented Shoppers in both industry-wide organizations as well as through state and local legislative efforts. He is particularly proud of his role in creating much of the company’s philanthropic program.
Mitchell has served on the board of both commercial and charitable organizations. He currently serves on the Foundation Board of the Washington Hospital Center and is its Treasurer. Mitchell is a past Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Food Dealers Association. Mitchell also has served on the Board of Consultants of Riggs Bank, the Advisory Board of Eagle Bank, and the Board of the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
Mitchell Herman received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, his MBA in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University and his Juris Doctor from the George Mason University School of Law. He also served with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Mitchell Herman is a native Washingtonian. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, Patti, and their three sons.
