Melissa Cockrell

Pastry Chef

Chef Melissa loves the sweet life. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, she studied the culinary arts with a focus in baking and pastry at The Arts Institute of Washington in Rosslyn.  She developed a passion for food at a young age; watching her family cook, she always offered to help. After school Chef Melissa spent several years working with the Liberty Group at Northside Social and Leonora Bakeries in Clarendon, VA. She comes to us after leaving the Hyatt Hotel in Crystal City. She also is a contractor helping out at the White House for special events. Her hobbies include tempering chocolate and spinning ice cream. It is not work when you love what you do!
